the pumpkin patch
We went to a pumpkin patch/corn maze/animal farm over the weekend. The Little Miss loved seeing all the animals and riding in the wagon and we loved the great selection of pumpkins to choose from...we got a daddy, mommy, and baby pumpkin - and somehow the mommy pumpkin ending up being the warty one!

weekend snapshot
This weekend was quite momentous... Guess who finally got her first tooth! Yes, it took almost 15 months but better late than never, eh? And the one next to it looks like it will be making its appearance soon too. I'm going to miss her gummy grin but I think a cute little snaggle-tooth is a fair trade!

doll costume
I'd like to introduce you to Little Miss Doll...
Today we did a Halloween dress rehearsal. I'm so thrilled with how the costume turned out - exactly like I pictured it in my head!
Dress - vintage from my shop
Shoes - thrift
Headband - I made the bow and attached it to a headband I bought at Walmart
Wind-up Key - toilet paper roll, styrofoam ball, + cardboard cutout spray-painted gold, elastic bands around her arms are attached to the toilet paper roll by brass paper fasteners
Rosy Cheeks - cream blush

velvet pumpkins
I never knew I loved velvet pumpkins until today! I'm still all for the real thing (and excited to carve jack-o-lanterns this weekend) but these are just too pretty.

costumes
I am definitely keeping these adorable costume ideas from small for future reference -kokeshi doll and matryoshka doll.
I guess I have an affinity for doll Halloween costumes which you will see when I finish the Little Miss' costume! Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow and when you see it you'll wonder why it took so long because it's really quite simple.

kings of convenience
Convenience is a word i always spell wrong on the first try, anyone else relate? I love this song and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Kings of Convenience remind me of when husband and I first started dating and our fledgling love was so new and exciting. I had no idea then how much that love would grow, but I'm sure glad it did.

weekend snapshot
The end of last week I got sick so I spent most of my time laying down while the Little Miss played with her toys and used me as a floor cushion. Gratefully, by the time the weekend rolled around I was feeling much better so we were able to go down south to help husband's father with his mayoral candidacy (vote Hart for Mayor of Ivins!) and attend a cousin's birthday party. Grandma Hart gave the Little Miss this Ugly Doll as a gift and turns out she has quite the personality. On the ride home she entertained us all with dance moves, sing-a-longs, peek-a-boo games, tickle fights, kisses, and she even took the wheel for awhile! How was your weekend?

baby, its cold outside
The cold rainy weather has me wondering what to do with a toddler during the winter months. I can't imagine not being able to play outside or go on walks! So, if we are to remain outside at all the Little Miss will need some warm winter clothes and Bonpoint's girls outfits are exactly what I would love to dress her in (and myself)! But, considering the price tag I'll just have to use their looks for inspiration.
And I would love these pink rose rain boots for her to do some puddle splashing!

weekend snapshot
After being out of town the last two weekends we decided to take it easy and hang around the house. The Little Miss wanted to pull on her boots and go outside so we ended up going on several walks. She brought along her new friend Duckie that we got her in New York. I just couldn't resist Duckie when I saw him in FAO Schwarz - I swear he quacked my name! Maybe one day the Little Miss will actually let him flap his wings and roll instead of holding him like her royal scepter.

fabric find {hushabye}
I am absolutely in love with this line from Moda. Its even better in person - I think I let out a little gasp when I laid eyes on it. I especially love the droplets and circus dots and the colors are perfection. I am determined to find a reason to buy some!
Have a great weekend!

welcome october
Since we were out of town when October hit I feel like I am just realizing that Halloween is in only a few weeks! I am working on a very simple yet adorable costume for the Little Miss which I'll share soon. In the meantime I LOVE these mask and tail sets from Oeuf.

hello again!
I'm back from my trip and trying to get into the swing of things again - the laundry pile is tottering on the point of collapse, the little miss and I are both off schedule, and there is a food shortage in our kitchen. But the trip was wonderful (minus the flying part which was actually quite horrible) and we are home safe and sound so that is all that matters at the moment; the housekeeping can wait while I say hello!
We didn't spend all of our time in the city as you can see. Upstate New York is where my brother and sister-in-law live and it was really beautiful out in the country. Their new baby boy is so adorable and holding him helped fill up my empty arms since the Little Miss stayed home with her Grandma and cousins.
Just so you know the shop is open again!
