This week I thought I would document a part of our lives that has never been captured before... the post office! We usually go once or twice a week to drop off international packages and LM has the drill down. She knows she can get stickers and coloring books on a good day, but she can always get her favorite happy face stamp! There have been times when we've walked out the door before she remembered it and insisted we go back. I don't complain though, it is the reason she is always willing to make a post office run!

LM wore: vintage dress - ebay (also has matching coat and hat I'll have to share another time), leggings - Target, shoes - Keep

We had a picnic at the park yesterday (if you can call a menu of suckers a picnic - we sat on a blanket so I think it counts). I decided going to this particular park will have to become a new weekly tradition - except in swimsuits, because how could I forget about the awesome stream running through it all the kids play in during the summer?! I told LM she could get as wet and muddy as she wanted, but she decided to come back another day when she was properly attired. That girl likes things to be just so (that and the water was cold).

Lark spent some time looking at the sunshine filtering through the leaves. Not a bad way to spend a beautiful afternoon.

LM wore: vintage top - thrifted, shorts - Target, shoes - Saltwater sandals
Lark wore: vintage sweater - thrifted, cloth diaper - bum genius

Lark is finally making another appearance in LVS! These pictures were actually taken about a month ago on her blessing day. She wore a vintage 1940/50's pale yellow dress with pretty embroidered flowers. I actually procrastinated planning her outfit until a few days before, and was lucky to dig this beauty out of a box I had forgotten about in my vintage kids closet - it fit perfectly! She looked beautiful and I'm so glad she was able to wear a special dress on her special day.

As for the rest of us, LM and I wore vintage this day too (Husband is a vintage supporter, but isn't into wearing it himself). I wore the same dress as the very first LVS, and LM wore the same dress as this post.

I love her out of control curls and popsicle stained lips. Her and Lark also wore matching handmade felt flowers in their hair made by and given to us by my sister.

And, here is a closer look at the details on Lark's dress...

This week I am giving you a closer look at the dress LM wore to The Little Mermaid play this past weekend. At the time, I wasn't thinking I would be using this outfit for LVS so I didn't get the greatest shots to show it off, but it is one of my favorite prints and I love the saturated colors! It's a cute little handmade shift dress with a bow sewn on the front.

My sister bought LM and her cousin princess crowns and jewelry to wear to the play which made it so fun for them, and got them extra excited to see Ariel. It was cute to see them all dolled up for their first real night out on the town!

LM wore: vintage shift dress, Anthropologie cardigan, Saltwater sandals, princess jewelry from Walgreens :)

little vintage style v.7

Hello! This week for Little Vintage Style I am doing something different...we aren't wearing vintage! Instead, I decided to incorporate one of my other loves into this feature - sewing clothes for my kids from vintage patterns.

It all started after LM was born and I rummaged through a big box of old patterns in my mom's sewing room. A lot of them ended up coming home with me, and that initial stack has turned into a full blown collection. There is no way I will ever be able to use all of them (and yes, I do believe they are meant to be used!), so watch for a vintage children's sewing pattern section to be added to the shop soon!

On this day, LM wore the sailboat pocket top I made for her last summer. We went for a ride on 'Thomas the Train' which she thought was pretty cool.
(Note: Lark is now pretty much bald. If she is like her sister, don't expect a lot of hair until her first birthday or thereabouts - I am really curious to see if it will come in curly or not!)

I think she thought the cotton candy the size of her head that Grandma bought her was cooler though... she inhaled it (don't worry, she did share).

And, we can't forget the man of the hour...Thomas!

LM is wearing: top made by me from vintage pattern, pants - Gap thrifted, shoes - Saltwater sandals

So, from now on I would love for you show off your little ones wearing vintage clothing, or clothing inspired by slash made from vintage patterns!

little vintage style v.6

Welcome to Little Vintage Style v.6, where you can link up your stylin' little ones!

I keep thinking how fun it would be to make LM a kite to fly on these windy days we've been having... in the mean time, we've discovered the joys of butterfly flying! The feather butterflies you can buy at any craft store get picked up by the wind and take flight quite easily.

We whiled away a late afternoon waiting for daddy to get home by chasing butterflies in our bare feet on the grass. I couldn't help but feel a little of that summertime magic as her giggles floated off into the sky, oh how I love this time of year!

Dress: vintage from ebay, Jeggings: Target

I just wanted to say thank you to all the ladies who have been linking up each week, you are awesome! And, I also wanted to invite anyone who has been thinking about joining in the fun to do it! There have been a lot of great connections and friendships made already which is one of the reasons I wanted to start this feature. I leave the submissions open until Saturday night and we'd love to have (meet) you!

little vintage style v.5

Hello friends! It's that time of the week again where you can link up your stylish kiddos showing off their vintage threads...

This week has gotten the better of me and I technically didn't take any pictures of us wearing vintage in our everyday lives...but, I did manage to bribe LM into modeling some dresses I am working on getting into the shop (hopefully by next week). So here is a little sneak peek at what's to come... (and after seeing her in these I am tempted to keep a few, but I can't keep them all!)

I am just happy I got one decent shot of each dress since the bed is an ideal place for jumping, not standing still for pictures! Later, I'll be taking more detailed shots of the dresses on hangers which is a lot easier to do than wrangling a toddler.

Did you manage to capture your little ones in vintage this week? I know its not always possible, but I will always love to see them when you do! Link up below...

little vintage style v.4

Last Friday we met up with my two sisters and their kids and walked around some gardens (I should say we walked and the kids ran). It was a gorgeous day, the flowers were beautiful, and I honestly don't think LM is happier than when she is with her cousins.

She wore another casual vintage top, although you probably wouldn't guess it was vintage by looking at it, that is unless you spotted the tag that would not stay tucked in! To me this top looks like it could be sold in stores right now, and I love the style for its timeless simplicity.

Once again Lark was asleep in the stroller, I'll have to sneak her in another week...

On LM: top - vintage Kate Greenaway, shorts - Target, shoes - Saltwater sandals
On me: shirt - Target, necklace - vintage pocket watch, a gift from my mother

Now its your turn, link up below!

little vintage style v.3

Welcome to Little Vintage Style week 3! I mentioned last week that the weather has been chilly lately, so we are very happy the sun decided to shine this week! We've been enjoying being able to play outside every day and have gotten a little sun kissed in the process.

On this bright and sunny morning LM was running around playing super hero with one of my t-shirts tied around her neck. She said she was Super Girl and Lark was Super Diaper - she cracks me up. Then she took her cape off and searched for dandelions around the yard.

I've been waiting for her to grow into this cute tulip pinafore top for over two years now, but I almost can't believe she is already old enough to wear it!

Top: vintage thrifted, Pants: Gap thrifted, shoes: Keep

Link yours up below, we'd all love to see!
And, I'd appreciate a link back to here in your post, thanks!
